The project was conducted at the Production Area of the Root Crep Center of the Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite from November 1991 to March 1992. The main objectives of this project were to enable the student to integrate the theoretical knowledge into practical and actual experience, to familiarize the student with the cultural management practices required by eggplant when intercropped with pechay and okra, and to assess the profitability of eggplant production with pechay and okra as intercrops.

A 1,000 square meter land was prepared. This was done by plowing and harrowing two times at an interval of one week. Construction of furrows was done and pulverization of soil follows within the furrows,

Seeds of eggplant (Long purple variety) and pechay (Common Chinese) were sown evenly in seedboxes with sterilized soil medium. Watering was done in the morning from time to time. Transplanting of pechay and eggplant seedlings was done two weeks after sowing. Okra seeds were direct seeded,

All the necessary cultural practices like weeding and cultivation, fertilization, and insects control were employed.

After harvesting and marketing of the produce were done, an income of p2,018.30 was obtained. The return on investment of the project was 48.03 percent.
