This farm practice project entitled "Asexual Propagation of Selected Landscape Plants" was conducted at the Ornamental Multiplication Project of the Department of Crop Science, Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite from January to April 1993. The general objective of the project was to propagate selected landscape plants Specifically, it aimed to attain 80% success in propagating golden dew drops (Duranta 22. ) , Lollypops (Pachystachys lutea), and cuphea (Cuphea hyssopi folia) and to obtain more than 25% return on investment in the project,
One thousand softwood cuttings of the three landscape plants were used as propagating materials and were rooted in plastic bags with rooting medium composed of an equal proportion of sawdust, compost, and garden soil. These were maintained under a shady mango tree for about four months.
A total amount Of P4, 238.74 was invested in the project. Recovered were 807 rooted plants which were sold at P10,00 each for golden dewdrops e PI 50 00 each for lollypops and P10000 each for cuphea. The gross income realized amounted to P9e 085.00, and the net income was P4, 8460 260
A value of 114. 33% return on investment (ROI) was computed as the measure of project worth,
