This study was conducted for the purpose of analyz-ing the supply of cutflowers with greater emphasis on "daisy" and the supply of foliage plants with greater em-phasis on "Japanese bamboo." Specifically, it aimed to 1) identify the factors affecting the supply of cutflowers (daisy) and foliage plants (Japanese bamboo) in selected towns of Cavite; 2) determine the socio-economic charac-teristics of the farmers that engage in producing cutflowers and foliage plants and; 3) identify the different problems encountered by the cutflowers and foliage plants farmers. Three towns in Cavite were selected in this study namely: Silang, Bacoor and the city of Tagaytay. Sixty one cutflower farmers and twenty seven foliage plants farmers constituted the sample with the total of eighty-eight farmers. The average age of the farmer respondents was 45 years. Majority of them attained elementary education. Farmers reported an average household size of six members. Their average gross family income was P40,568.18. The average total farm area was 2 hectares regardless of the kind of crops planted. Almost eighty one percent of the respondents derived their income form farming alone and majority of them were owner-operators. The supply of daisy and Japanese bamboo was affect-ed by its own price. When the price increased, quantity supplied also tended to increase. The price of adahlia and other cutflowers which were seen as a substitute to daisy also affected the supply of daisy. Similarly, the price of other foliage plants had also affected the supply of Japanese bamboo. Their effect is noted to be inversely proportional to quantity supplied. The operators level of capital was also observed to influence the quantity supplied as well as the area planted to it. The major problems encountered by the cutflowers and foliage plants farmers were low price of cutflowers and foliage plants, low production, animal destruction and insect pests and diseases.
