This study was conducted from August 2018 to May 2019 among students in Cavite

State University-Main Campus Indang, Cavite to determine the perceived parenting styles, self-
deprecation and co-curricular performance of selected high school students amowl, schools in

Brgy. Paliparan III, for the school year 2018-2019. Specifically, the study aimed to: (1) determine
the perceived parenting style of high school student participants to their biological parents; (2)

determine the level of self-deprecation among high school students, determine the level of co-
curricular performance among high school students, and (3) determine the significant

relationship among the perceived parenting style, level of self-deprecation and co-curricular
performance of high school students in selected schools of Brgy. Paliparan III. Descriptive
correlation research design was used in the study to answer the objectives of the study. The
researchers used cluster sampling technique and a total of 400 participants were qualified as
respondents of the study.
Findings revealed that there was no pervasive and highly regarded styles of parenting. All
of which authoritative, authoritarian, and permissive parenting styles gained average scores
which indicated that all were certain characteristics of these parenting styles were practiced.
This also means that the three types of parenting style was all used by the parents accordingly.
The levels of self-deprecation of an adolescence also revealed in moderate level, which could
be explained through factors experienced by the students, while, the level of co-curricular
performance resulted average score as well. All of the stated variables were significantly related
to each. Findings of correlations indicated that: parenting style had an effect on the students'

level of self-deprecation and vice versa; parenting style affects the students" level of co-
curricular performance and vice versa; and the level of self-deprecation affects the level of co-
curricular performance and vice versa
