The internship was conducted at Convergys Corporation located at One Evotech
Building Nuvali Lakeside Evozone IT Park Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Road Santa Rosa, Laguna.
The purpose of the internship program is to broaden and enhance the student's skills and
knowledge to become more competent individuals. It is an avenue for students to apply the
theoretical knowledge they gained from school, and for the students to become more adept with
their chosen careers. The internship also exposed the students to the realities of the application
process especially in the business outsourcing field. It aimed to identify the function of the
recruitment department and its operations; identify the most challenging part under recruitment
department; identify strengths and weaknesses of the firm and the problems encountered in the
recruitment department and resolutions.
The interns were assigned in HR, recruitment, and sourcing department. They were
trained under these departments. Intern spent 600 hours of internship under sourcing
department which looking for applicants and inviting potential candidates for the application.
Sourcing staff orients the interns about the tasks that would be distributed to them. Interns spent
one to two weeks of observation under sourcing department to be familiar and master the tasks
that they were going to do during staying in the company. Internships really are a win-win
situation. They can help you decide if a particular career or area is or is not for you, and narrow
down the (often long) list of careers that you are interested in to find one that you will be happy
in. If you do not enjoy your internship experience then, at the very least, it will have helped you
to determine that a particular area is not for you. Do not give up, you can always fry another
internship in a different organization, role or a completely different field and see if you like it any
better. Every experience helps you to define and redirect your career path. While the career you
end up working in may be a bit more down-to-earth, internships allow you to explore all the
possibilities and come away with an experience that you will never forget.
