This study was conducted from December 2018 to March 2019 at Silang, Cavite and at
Engineering Science Building of CvSU, Indang to develop an automated biodiesel processing
machine. Specifically, it aimed to: 1. design and construct the microcontroller circuit for the
system; 2. design and fabricate the biodiesel processing machine; 3. develop an Arduino
program necessary to control the system; 4. test and evaluate the performance of the system
through pilot testing in terms of: quality of the output, carbon residue, flash point, free glycerin
and kinetic viscosity; quantity of the output produced; and electrical efficiency; and 5. conduct a
cost computation for the system. The project aimed to benefit the national and local government
since the study supports the campaign concerning both waste and environmental problems by
the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) by utilizing the chicken fat into
biodiesel. Also, the poultry industry will benefit because the produced output will provide and
establish long term, sustainable alternative domestic market. The materials used in the study
were Arduino Mega 2560, Fujita FES-10 Electric Cooker, circuit breaker, relay, capacitive and
water level sensor, water pump, and DH21 temperature sensor. The automated biodiesel
processing machine could produce biodiesel out of three inputs: vegetable oil, chicken fats oil
and combination of the two. Result of the evaluation showed that based on the evaluated
accuracy of the machine and quality of the outputs, the biodiesel processing machine was
considered desirable and effective compared to the previous study. The study was proven
effective on its capability to meet its objectives. Thus, it helps to present the advantages in
performance of the biodiesel processing machine. The biodiesel processing machine had a total
cost of P 53,050.00.
