Cavite has the highest land area dedicated to coffee farming. Amadeo is the largest producer of coffee in the entire upland Cavite and hailed as the Coffee Capital of the Philippines. Currently, coffee farms in Amadeo are experiencing impacts brought by the climate change. The study assessed the climate change vulnerability and adaptation strategies of the coffee farmers in Amadeo, Cavite. This study determined the demographic profile, climate risk perception of the coffee farmers and assessed their vulnerability in terms of function of exposure (E), sensitivity (S), and adaptive capacity (AC). The study identified and considered 20 indicators: 6 for the exposure, 5 for the sensitivity, and 9 for the adaptive capacity. A total of 265 respondents were surveyed and interviewed from April - May 2022. Results showed that vulnerability rating of the coffee farming in Amadeo was 0.55 with the exposure value of 0.47, sensitivity value of 0.63, and adaptive capacity value of 0.58. This indicated that the coffee farming in Amadeo was moderately vulnerable to climate change impacts. Moreover, the study also determined the vulnerability level per barangay and used hotspot analysis map to depict the vulnerability level of each barangay. Barangay II has the highest vulnerability rating of 0.62 and Minantok Silangan with 0.42.
