The study which was conducted at the Cavite State University in Indang, Cavite from January to March 2003 aimed to give the researchers a clear and unmistakable understanding of the message of the film so that a strong foundation of faith in God during the rule of Satan on earth may be established. It also sought to fulfill the following objectives: a) to determine the major theme of the film; b) to identify the factual prophecies in the scripture; c) to find out the similarities and differences of the portrayal in the film and the accounts in the scripture; and d) to describe the technical aspects of the film that helped portray the prophecies.
The research instruments used in this study were the content analysis form and thematic table adapted from the study of Ma. Celeste M. Borsoto and Natalie Rose N. Padua. For the technical aspects, the criteria form adapted from the book of Mass Communication Research Methods by Andres Hansen et al, 1998 was analyzed.
Revelation: The Book Has Been Opened is the film that the researchers analyzed. After the analysis, it was found out that there are several factual prophecies about tribulation in the film. There are many similarities and few differences between the portrayal in the film and the accounts in the Scriptures. Analysis results showed that the technical aspects of the film were able to portray the prophecies clearly.
