The experiment, “Response of Mongo to Soil Inoculant” was conducted from August 28, 1978 to November 11, 1978 at the Don Severino Agricultural College, Indang, Cavite the aim of which is to determine the right amount of soil inoculant that would give good result when applied to mongo.
The field with an area of 400 square meters was plowed and harrowed twice with an interval of two weeks. This was divided into four blocks which were subdivided then into four plots. Four replications, three treatments and a control were distributed at random in different plots.
Soil inoculant was applied at different rates: Treatment 1, with twenty grams of soil inoculant per hectare; Treatment 2, with thirty grams per hectare, and treatment 3, with fifty grams per hectare.
Treatment 3 produced the highest yield, heaviest weight and talles plants, followed by treatments 2 and 1.
