CADION, MERLYN G. and SIERRA, CYNDEE D., Analysis and Design of Flyover at Palapala Intersection, Dasmarifias, Cavite. Undergraduate Design Project. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, College of Engineering and Information Technology, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2007. Adviser: Engr. Rico Asuncion.
The design project "Analysis and Design of Flyover at Palapala Intersection, Dasmarinas, Cavite was conducted at Cavite State University from June 2006 to March 2007.
The design project aimed to enhance the authors' skills and knowledge in analyzing and designing of flyover using manual computations. The design project serves as a practice by applying the ideas and knowledge they had acquired over their years of study and reference for future implementation of the project. Ultimate Strength Design Method was used in the design of structural members. A detailed architectural and structural plans, detailed cost estimates, and design specifications were included in the project. A miniature scaled model of the design of flyover was provided after the completion of the analysis and design process. The structure was composed of a two way flyover, one lane each direction, with 190 meters bridge length and a total of 40 meters approach. A pre-stressed concrete girder was used and the bridge was designed to carry a live load of MS 18 truck load.
Thorough analysis of the design procedures and specifications were applied in the study. The parameters used in the analysis were carefully studied and determined to arrive to an effective and efficient design
