A study was conducted to determine the psychological effects of wearing sports superstition as perceived by varsity athletes of Cavite State University Main Campus. Specifically, it aimed to: describe the profile of varsity athletes of Cavite State University; determine the belief in superstitious beliefs among the varsity athletes of Cavite State University; . determine the rituals, colours, number and signature brands of varsity athletes of Cavite State University; assess whether there is a significant difference between the psychological effects of wearing sports superstition things by the varsity athletes when they are grouped by age, gender, religion, type of sports, number of years playing as varsity.

Participants were 127 varsity athletes of Cavite State University Main Campus. The E Chi- Square test was used to determine the significant relationship between the demographic profile of the participants and the psychological effects of wearing sports superstition using 0.05 level of significance.

Findings showed that typical varsity athletes of Cavite State University Main Campus were males, 20 and above years of age, and playing in individual and dual sports.

The outcome of the study may be used for further research. In gathering data, the proponents had a hard time in finding the varsity athletes for the survey since they were very busy. In order to deepen the study, the proponents recommend to future researchers to be more detailed and patient in order to make the study more meaningful.
