The study was conducted at Mataas na Lupa, Indang, Cavite from November 1999 to February 2000. This study aimed to: determine the possibility of using the pseudostem of banana in making paper, evaluate the characteristics of paper produced from pseudostem of banana; determine the best treatment in making paper using pseudostem of banana.

The pseudostem of banana and the solution of rosin size and alum were mixed together. The following treatments were used: the first treatment (Ti) is young pseudostem of banana and (T) is matured pseudostem of banana. The samples were presented to 20 students for evaluation. The result showed that T. is better than Th, in terms of color and general acceptability and tensile strength but T, is more favorable than T in terms of texture. The end product can be used as a paper but cannot replace the quality of commercial papers.
