The study was developed to help the administrators promote a faster record management system of a student compare to a manual system. There are two points of view (POV) of the system. First, the nurse to add and view an information system anytime the application is used. It will help the nurse determine if a student submits results of medical or a medical form for signing of clearance.
The researchers used the Software Development Methodology as a paradigm for the development of the system. It consists of the following phases: analyze/planning phase; breakdown priority project phase; design module phase; code test/debug phase; integration of sub procedure; testing; integration with the existing system phase; and test/implementation phase.
The Record Management Information System of the Infirmary - Cavite State University Rosario Campus was developed using Microsoft Visual Basic as the backbone of the system, MySQL for the database, and Microsoft Office Word 2007 for the documentation.
The system underwent testing and evaluation to ensure the functionality and accuracy. There were 30 proponents composed of three nurses including the nurse at the infirmary of Cavite State University Rosario Campus and nurses at the infirmary of Cavite State University Main Campus, and 26 fourth year nursing students of Cavite State University Main Campus. The system was evaluated based on the seven criteria, namely: functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability. Based on the result of the software evaluation, a large number of participants rated the system 'very good", thus the objectives and requirements of the system were achieved.
