This study was conducted to trace the BSBM major in Economics graduates from 2004 to 2011. Specifically, it aimed to describe the socio-economic characteristics of the BSBM major in Economics graduates from 2004 to 2011; determine the current employment status of BSBM major in Economics graduates from 2004 to 2011; determine the income ranges of the BSBM major in Economics graduates; and identify the major problems encountered in seeking jobs and problems met in their current jobs. . Data were collected using an interview schedule with the 89 graduates as participants. Frequency counts, percentage, mean and range were used to determine the socio-economic characteristics, current employment status and income of the graduates. Ranking was used to identify problems encountered by the graduates in seeking jobs. The age of the BSBM major in Economics graduates from 2004-2011 ranged from 22 to 42 years old with an average of 29 years old. Majority of the graduates (62%) were still single.
Majority (75%) of the graduates were employed in private firms of which 32 percent were engaged in manufacturing industry. In terms of employment status, 79 percent were in permanent status. On the other hand, there were three graduates who own business rather than to be employed. The monthly income of graduates ranged from P 6,000 to P 70,000 with an average of P 19,000. The most common problem met by the BSBM major in Economics graduates in seeking jobs is the lack of job experience. Furthermore, the most common problem met by the graduates in their current job is the place of job or company is very far from home.
