The study was conducted to determine the status of extension projects implemented by the College Of Economics, Management and Development Studies. Specifically, this study aimed to: 1) determine the different extension projects implemented by CEMDS; 2) determine the activities under the different extension projects implemented by CEMDS; 3) determine the status of the activities under the different extension projects implemented by CEMDS; 4) determine the sociodemographic characteristics of the beneficiaries of the extension projects implemented by CEMDS; 5) determine the benefits derived from the projects implemented by CEMDS; and 6) determine the problems encountered in the implementation.
The data was gathered in the different barangays of Indang and Trece Martires City, Cavite. A total of 98 extension projects beneficiaries were interviewed.
The different extension projects implemented by the College of Economics,
Management and Development Studies were Livelihood Training Program, Alternative Learning System (ALS), and Community Empowerment, Mobilization and Development Support Services: A Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships (CEMDS-MSP).
To describe the socio-demographic profile of the beneficiaries in Indang and Trece Martires City, Cavite, frequency, mean, percentage and distribution table were used in the study.
The benefits obtained by the participants of the extension projects were the increase of their literacy, the knowledge that enabled them to establish their own business, the enhancement of their skills followed by an increase in their income and production, creation of awareness on gender and development, and the awareness of the participants' family members in engaging themselves into livelihood activities.
Lack of personal interest and conflict with their work were the major problem encountered by the participants of livelihood training programs and CEMDS-MSP while lack of up-to-date tools and equipment for the program was the main problem met by alternative learning system participants.
