April 2016. Adviser: Ms. Erica Charmane B. Hernandez. <br/><br/> The study was conducted in Cavite State University to determine if there is a significant relationship between self-evaluation and communication apprehension of selected students of Cavite State University Main Campus from August 2015 to January 2016. Specifically, it aimed to: determine the self-evaluation among selected students in terms of physical appearance, socialization skills, and self-confidence; determine the level of communication apprehension in terms of group discussions, meetings, interpersonal conversation, public speaking; and determine the relationship between self-evaluation and level of communication apprehension. Further, it used descriptive method of research and purposive sampling to come up with a total of 243 participants. Based on the data gathered, it revealed that the self-evaluation of the participants in terms of physical appearance is "Moderately Concerned" which implies that the participants feel a little bit of worried with their physical attributes. Moreover, socialization skill is "Moderately Skilled" which implies that the participants sometimes mistakenly use improper ideas, grammar and pronunciation. Self-confidence is "Moderately Confident" which implies that the participants sometimes feel a low self-esteem when delivering a message. The participants have high level of communication apprehension in public speaking and low level in group discussion, meetings, and interpersonal conversation. <br/><br/> Results further revealed that there is 'no significant' relationship between self-evaluation and level of communication apprehension among selected students of Cavite State University Main Campus. <br/> |
