DAVID, MARY JOY S. Assessment of Water Resources in Indang, Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. December 2016. Adviser: Dr. Leyma L. Cero. <br/> The study was conducted from August 2015 to February of 2016 in Indang, Cavite to evaluate the water resources in the municipality. Specifically, the study aimed to identify the water resources in Indang, Cavite, prepare a map showing the location of water resources of Indang, collect information on how water resources are utilized in the area, measure the water quantity and quality of the identified sources, and conduct a potability test of water from springs that are utilized for drinking purpose. Field visits were done for seven months covering two months of wet period from September to October and four months of dry period from November to February to conduct in situ measurement of spring and streamflow discharge, pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, total dissolved solids, and electrical conductivity. Microbial test was done twice to cover the wet and dry seasons. The sampling sites are located in streams of Poblacion II, Saluysoy, Bancod, Calumpang Cerca, St. Anthony Falls and Lamiyo and nine springs in the area, namely: Ikloy, Ipie I and II, Niyog, Ulo, Sibol, Bulbok, Siloy and Buho Spring. Fluctuating discharges of streams and springs were observed due to some weather disturbances. Discharge of Ikloy and Ipie I springs was gathered from Indang Water District. Four springs failed the potability test, therefore, the water is not recommended for drinking. |
