Cavite State University Indang, Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Engr. Renato B. Cubilla.<br/>The demand to find alternative materials to existing typical ones and retaining its strength at the same time have exerted researchers to work and investigate on the possible materials substitute to cement. The study aimed to determine if the concrete mix with partial component of coal ash and mill scale can be used as replacement for cement. The concrete mixtures have been mixed with 10 percent, 20 percent, and 30 percent of coal ash and mill scale as partial replacement for cement and another mixture for control. Sixty-three concrete cylinders specimens were casted. It was cured and tested for compressive strength. Concrete cylinders were tested at the -PI, 14th and 20 days curing to determine its compressive strength.<br/>The highest compressive strength of 20.14 MPa (2923.33 psi) at 20 day was recorded for mixture B at 28th day. Experimental results have indicated that the more coal ash and mill scale being added, the compressive strength of the mixture decreases. Mixture B (90% cement — 10% coal ash) almost met the minimum standard for class A concrete mixture. From the results obtained, it can be concluded that coal ash can be used as supplementary cementitious material but only up to the 90 percent -10 percent can be used to improve the strength of concrete. As for the mill scale, it obtained the highest compressive strength of 15.42 MPa (2236.67 psi). As the coal ash and mill scale amount. Increases the compressive strength decreases. From the results, it can be concluded that mill scale can only be used in a specific type of construction such as road curves, gutters, pathways, binder riprapping, rubble masonry, residential slab, concrete walks.<br/>
