Baes.<br/><br/>The study aimed to determine the factors that influenced the achievement in making an effective methodologies, approaches and innovative strategies in Local disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan (LDRRMP); to identify the challenges faced by the Local government units (LGUs) and different agencies involved in disaster risk reduction management in the implementation and management; to determine the contribution of utilization of Local disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund (LDRRMF) disaster mitigation and preparedness; to evaluate the capacities of Local Government Units (LGUs) in providing assistance in achieving a prepared community in disaster and calamities; to identify the actions taken by local government units in partnership to different agencies involved in disaster risk reduction management; to identify the procedures for the expanded access to financial transactions of the Local Government Units (LGUs) with regards to the utilization of calamity funds.<br/><br/>Participants of the study were the head of the Disaster Risk Reduction Management of the five selected local government units in Cavite namely: Dasmarinas City, Cavite City, Municipalities of Alfonso, Amadeo and General Emilio Aguinaldo. Descriptive-<br/>Comparative design was used in this study to determine the impact of Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Fund (LDRRMF) to the disaster management system between the differences of cities and municipalities.<br/><br/>Results showed that the releasing process and utilised Local Disaster Risk\ Reduction Management Fund had a big impact on disaster implementation and management. The amount of Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Fund (LDRRMF) affect the activities and programs made by the Local disaster Risk Reduction Management Councils.<br/><br/>The disaster risk reduction management of the selected local government units are still adjusting for disaster preparedness and mitigation since the enactment of R.A. 10121. It also revealed that the municipalities have incomplete roster of Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management members and councils and also equipment and equipage because of the lack of salary due to the small amount of their Local Disaster Risk Reduction<br/>Management Fund they received, dissimilar with the selected cities that have the capability<br/>to acquire disaster tools and to have complete Local disaster risk reduction management<br/>councils. However, the disaster management system of the selected municipalities still<br/>function to what their community needs.<br/> |
