Arboleda <br/>The main objective of the study was to develop a wireless air pollution monitoring system. Specifically, it aimed to construct the arduino based circuit for the transmitter part of the system. It also aimed to develop the software of the transmitter unit and the receiver unit. The design project was composed of the Gizduino ATMega 328 which serves as the microcontroller unit, the zigbee shield for the communication of the transmitter unit and server, the GPS module for the location of the transmitter unit which gives longitudinal and latitudinal data, the gas sensors for carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, ozone and particulate matter for the detection of air pollution levels in an area. The microcontroller is responsible for the operation of the system. The project was tested and evaluated at various places in Cavite for eight (8) hours to monitor the air pollution level and determine the accuracy of the data readings from the air 'pollution sensors and the maximum distance the wireless transmission covered. Based on the results of the evaluation, the system is capable of monitoring the level of the air pollutants and capable of checking the accuracy of the readings which does not have a significant difference on the measured parameters by the emission testing center through statistical analysis from the results of the evaluations. Also, the maximum distance that transmission can cover is 90 m line of sight without any obstruction. The total cost of the design project was P 12,187.00.<br/> |
