AGUSTIN, RAY VINCENT M. Swine Production in G. M. A., Cavite: An Entrepreneurial Project Bachelor in Agricultural Entrepreneurship Major in Animal Production. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. Adviser: Mariedel L. Autriz, PhD. <br/>This project as conducted at Lower Moonlight, Barangay Gregoria de Jesus, General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite from February 08, 2017 to April 22, 2017. The project aimed to use the student's skills in actual management and operation of swine enterprise, to enhance the skills and gain more knowledge and to determine the profitability of the project. The pigs were purchased from a local backyard piggery in Bayan Bayanan, San Vicente, Laguna with an average initial weight of 12.25 kg. The feeds were bought from San Jose, G.M.A. Cavite. The pigs were fed three times a day and went into strict feeding regime to prevent scouring and feeds wastage. On the first day the student-entrepreneur bought 14kg of hog pre-starter crumble costing P672.00 to prevent sudden change of feeds that might cause scouring or loss of appetite. After three days hog starter pellet was boughtP1,400.00 and started to mix the feeds. The student-entrepreneur bought a total of three sacks of hog starter pellet. After 1 month, hog grower is bought costing P1,170.00 per bag with a total of seven bags. After 76 days the stock weighed an average of 68.75kg and an average daily gain of 659 grams per day. The hogs consumed an average of 125 kg of feeds per head, giving a feed conversion ratio of 2.23. A total of P27,089.00 was used for buying of stocks, feeds, medicine, and other inputs used in the operation. The business gave a net income which amounted to P8,011.00 giving a return of investment (ROI) of 30%. <br/><br/> |
