GATUS, EMMANUEL JOHN M. and MAGBITANG, MARY JOY E. Project<br/>Planning and Management System Development for Selected Non-profit Schools in Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2017. Adviser: Engineer Gerry M. Castillo.<br/>The study was conducted for the purpose of developing a project planning and management system for selected non-profit schools in Cavite. The school domains such as Management and Organization, Learning and Teaching, Student Support Development and School Programs, and Student Performance were assessed in order to identify the project planning and management system needs of a non-profit school. The respondent school was the Holy Family School of Indang. The HFSI had 1 1 employees specifically, seven full time teachers, one school administrator, one principal, one administrative staff, and one maintenance personnel.<br/>A descriptive research method was utilized for the data gathering portion of the study. The researchers employed the use of surveys, interviews (both written and verbal), as well as historical data, and other related theses. These instruments were distributed to the entire organizational structure of HFSI.<br/>The data analysis showed that the school's current planning and managerial practices is able to meet, at the very least, the bare minimum of all CDC school domains. Although, also inferred from the findings is that there are minimal disagreements for rating each of the qualifications, which allows one to see that there are certain items for concern. These concerns, or problems, or items for improvement make up, collectively,<br/>PPnM problems in HFSI.<br/>The results of survey for industrial engineering tools and methods will help the institution, the respondents scored tools and methods with more immediate results higher than those that would take both a lengthier amount of time, as well as a higher level of expertise that may not be within the school's reach.<br/>In the analysis of what will help the non-profit school to meet its organizational commitment with scarce resources at hand, the researchers arrived to the idea of devising Manual of Operations for non-profit schools. The devised Manual of Operations not only contains a set of standard procedures for school operating activities, but it also has a planning method improvements and utilizes process flow charting, mapping out certain critical processes done within the school.<br/>As for the evaluation of the devised Manual of Operations, the manual was rated with particularly high scores by the faculty and staff of The Holy Family School of Indang. HFSI believes that the manual is a good addition to their roster of tools for ensuring quality education. It also corrects malpractice through providing a clear, written and concrete reference to various internal and external practices.<br/>Recommendations were made to have further improvements for the school. To the teachers, they should establish standardization of practices and sharing of newer methods for instruction as well as assessments and introducing regular research. To the school administration, they should implement short morning briefings as a daily activity, utilize 5S methodology, and enforce standardized processes and procedures across the school. To future researchers, they can widen research scope to cover planning and management of monetary resources and use a business process model and notations (BPMN) chart as a tool for further analysis. |
