Cayao. <br/>The study was conducted to describe and examine the capital formation and cash management practices of Muslim vendors in selected cities of Cavite_ Specific-aliv the study intended to determine the demographic profile of the Muslim vendors; describe the characteristics of Muslim retail businesses; determine the capital formation and cash management practices of Muslim vendors; determine if there is a significant relationship between the demographic profile and capital formation in terms of sources of capital as well as between the demographic profile and cash management practices of Muslim vendors: determine the problems encountered in capital formation and cash management practices of Muslim vendors; and figure out the way to improve and enhance the level and conditions of Muslim vendors in selected cities of Cavite. One hundred fifteen Muslim vendors served as participants in the study- from the cities of Cavite namely Dasmarinas, Bacoor, Imus, General Trias and Trece Martires. Purposive sampling was used to identify the individual participants for the selected cities of Cavite. Descriptive statistics such as percentage, ranges mean and frequency count were used in the analysis of data. Spearman's rank correlation. Chi-square and Point-biserial correlation were used to determine the relationship between the demographic profile and capital formation in terms of sources of capital as well as the relationship between the demographic profile and cash management practices of Muslim vendors in selected cities of Cavite. Based on the result, the age of the participants ranged from 17 — 66 year with an average of 33 years; 61 percent were female and 39 percent were male. The estimated monthly family income of the participants ranged from P2, 000 - PI00, 000 with a mean of P18, 365_22_ As for the characteristics of Muslim retail businesses, 97 percent of the participants were sole-proprietorship and the remaining three percent were partnership. In the case of capital formation, the study found out that the sources of capital of the participants were mainly from their personal savings. The study also revealed that the cash management practices of the Muslim vendors in terms of cash budgeting_ cash allocation and cash control were all interpreted as occasionally practiced with a grand mean of 3.00. 3.20 and 3.21 respectively. <br/> |
