DE GUZMAN, SHEENA MORIAH B. Backyard broiler production: As Entrepreneurial Development Project. Bachelor in Agricultural Entrepreneurship major in Animal Production. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite, Philippines. January 2018 Adviser: Dr. Irvin DL. Matel A broiler production project was conducted in Alulod, Cavite for the first cycle from February 6 to March 13, 2017, and from March 22 to April 26, 2017 for the second cycle, to put the student entrepreneur in actual management and operation of a broiler enterprise to gain more knowledge in broiler production, and to determine the profitability of raising 100 broilers for two cycles. A total of 200 straight-run broiler chicks were used in the project, 98 of which were harvested after 35 days. They consumed a total of 300 kg of feeds each cycle or 3.06 kg per bird. They obtained an average final body weight of 1.75 kg. The calculated feed efficiency was 1.74 for the first cycle], and 1.76 for the second cycle. This broiler project production was found profitable with a net income of ₱3, 155.75 and return of investment of 24.40% for the first cycle, For the second cycle, it obtained a net income ₱2,664.5 and a return investment of 21.02%. |
