CABANES, DAREN T. and LEGASPI, JOSHUA A. CAT RUN ESCAPADE: AN ANDROID GAME-BASED RUNNING APPLICATION. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. May 2017. Adviser: Mr. Marlon R. Pereña.
The study was conducted from February 2016 to May 2017 at College of Engineering and Information Technology, Cavite State University, Indang to develop a Cat Run Escapade, an Android game-based running application. Specifically, it aimed to: 1.give the user an information and knowledge about the historical places in the country; 2.create a game that has an educational features specifically history; 3.provide an interesting game that provide users an enjoyment throughout by playing the game; 4.design and develop the system using Construct 2 and Local Storage behavior; and 5.test & evaluate the system through a series of test. The application is composed of three modules: Character Management Module, Game Module, and Information Module. The Character Module, there are different kinds of designed cats. These cats have attributes like additional health points that help to the user to finish the stage. Information module, it shows the information of several places in every stages of the game. It shows some rare information of the location in the country. In the game module, this is the interactive game. The researcher used agile "scrum" system development methodology because scrum does not require or provide any specific software development practices to be used. Instead, it requires certain practices and tools in various phases of Scrum to avoid chaos caused by unpredictability and complexity. The Scrum approach has been developed for managing the systems development process. It is empirical approach applying the ideas of industrial process control theory to systems development resulting in an approach that reintroduces the ideas of flexibility, adaptability and productivity. The Scrum process has generally three groups of phases: pre-game, development and post-game.
The application can be used with 2.00 GB RAM and Android KitKat 4.4 up to updated version for the operating system of the smartphone as a minimum requirement.
|
