Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2018. Adviser: Engr. Roslyn P. Perla. <br/>The study entitled "Proposed Design of Counterforted Retaining Wall along Amuntay River Dasmarinas City, Cavite" was conducted from October 2017 to May 2018 at Cavite State University. <br/>The main objective of the study was to design a counterforted retaining wall along Amuntay river that will maintain stability of soil and prevents flooding on the area and estimate the cost of a counterfort retaining wall. <br/>Interview of the residents and resource persons were conducted to know the current condition of the riverside. The length and exact location of the proposed reinforced concrete retaining wall were determined through surveying. Researches were also conducted to gather information for the analysis and design of counterforted retaining wall. <br/>The design and analysis of counterforted retaining wall along Amuntay river Dasmarinas City, Cavite has an overall span of 240 meters. The design of base, stem, heel, toe and counterfort of counterforted retaining wall was considered in the study. Three types of retaining wall designs were made, design no. 1 with a height of 8.00 in, design no. 2 with a height of 7.50 in and design no. 3 with a height of 7 m xii <br/>height of 7.00 in. The total estimated cost for counterforted retaining wall design 1, counterforted retaining wall design 2 and counterforted retaining wall design 3 was <br/>P9,599,501.21 P14,240,826.58, and P respectively. The overall total estimated cost for the three proposed designs of counterforted retaining wall was Php 7 339 190.96. <br/>A detailed analysis of the design guidelines, procedure and specifications was applied in the study. The parameters used were carefully studied and detailed as to arrive to an efficient and effective design. <br/>In the design and analysis of counterforted retaining wall, ultimate strength design was used. Detailed structural drawings, structural design, detailed surveying, design specification and detailed estimates were included in the study. A tarpaulin which contains the illustration of the physical appearance of the proposed counterforted retaining wall was then provided and presented after the completion of the analysis and design process. <br/> |
