Specifically, the study aimed to: (1) describe the business profile of construction companies in Cavite in terms of location of business, types of sectors, forms of ownership, sources of capital, years of operation, major daily expenses, and current operating capital; (2) determine the level of cash flow management practices of construction companies as to operating activities; (3) determine the commonly used payment mechanism of construction companies in terms of payment system and pricing system; (4) determine the factors that affect the company's practices in its payment mechanism as to: payment system and pricing system; (5) ascertain the significant relationship between the given variables such as: cash flow management practices and payment mechanism; existing payment system and the factors affecting its payment practices and existing pricing system and the factors affecting its pricing practices; and identify the problems encountered affecting cash flow management practices of construction companies in Cavite. The study was conducted in the selected construction companies in different municipalities of Cavite, namely, Bacoor, Dasmarifias, Imus and General Trias. Data were obtained through survey with 59 construction companies using self-made questionnaire. Data were analyzed using frequency count, mean and percentage. To determine the significant relationship between two variables, Pearson (r) correlation was used.
Results revealed that most construction companies were engaged in residential construction and in the forms of sole proprietorship. Majority of the participants preferred personal savings as source of capital and operate the business for at least 16 years. Their major daily expense was maintenance fee and most of them had a current operating capital of P100,001 to P500,000. Cash flow management was highly practiced among participants. The results of the study also showed cash flow management practices and payment mechanism has no significant relationship. Positive relationship was found out in existing payment system and the factors affecting company's practices. There was also a positive relationship between the existing pricing system and factors affecting its pricing practices.

|
