Cayao <br/>The study aimed to analyze if there is financial inclusion among minimum wage earners in selected areas in Cavite. Specifically, it aimed to; determine the socio-demographic profile of minimum wage earners in selected areas in Cavite; determine the of financial products and services availed by minimum wage earners from microfinance institutions; determine the usage of financial products and services by the minimum wage earners in selected areas in Cavite; determine the level of satisfaction towards the quality of financial products and services availed by minimum wage earners; determine the characteristics of microfinance institutions considered in availing financial products and services; determine if there is financial inclusion among minimum wage earners to microfinance institutions in terms of (a) access (b) usage (c) level. of satisfaction (d) perceived advantage and; determine if there is significant difference on the usage of financial services when grouped according to socio demographic profile. Descriptive statistical tools were used in analyzing the data gathered. Frequency, mode, and percentage were used to describe the socio-demographic-profile of the minimum wage earners in selected areas in Cavite. Likert scale was used to determine the level of satisfaction. Frequency was also used to determine the characteristics of microfinance institutions the minimum wage earners considered in availing financial products and services. The significant difference on the usage of financial services when grouped according to socio-demographic profile was determined through anova test and t-test. The study revealed that female is most likely to avail financial products and services than male and most of the participants are young to middle aged and were mostly high school graduate. It was also revealed that most of the participants has 4 to 6 members in their family. In terms of availment of financial products and services, the most availed is remittances and it was also revealed that 84 percent of the participants availed financial products and services from one of the most known remittance agent, which is Cebuana Lhuillier. The participants also considered the characteristics of the microfinance institutions in availing financial products and services. The researchers concluded that there is financial inclusion among minimum wage earners working in manufacturing and retail industries in five selected areas in Cavite, namely: Bacoor, Dasmarinas, General Trias, Imus and Rosario, since the four lenses used in measuring financial inclusion based on Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas are present.<br/> |
