Lapidario, Trece Martires City, Undergraduate Thesis, Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Cavite State University, May 2018. Adviser: Erica Charmane B. Hernandez. <br/><br/>The purpose of the study was to measure the effectiveness of both TV and Online Coverage of the The Marawi siege crime news as perceived by selected residents of Brgy. Lapidario, Trece Martires City. Another aim of this study was to describe certain features of TV and Online news to fully understand the news in terms of content, context, visual dimension, timeliness and relevance. A questionnaire was used to determine the perception of the participants on the TV and Online coverage about the Marawi siege. It was conducted at Brgy. Lapidario, Trece Martires City from January to February 2018. The questionnaires were given to the residents of the said Barangay. It was revealed in the study that overall, the participants found both TV and online coverage of the Marawi siege crime news to be Very Effective in terms of the content, context, visual dimension, timeliness and relevance of information of both TV and online coverage of the Marawi siege crime news. The study also revealed that there was no significant difference between TV coverage and online coverage of the Marawi Siege Crime news perceived by the participants. As recommended, Journalism students, broadcasters, reporters, journalists, Internet and TV news institutions, and future researchers may gain insights from this study which may help them to strengthen their arguments about the Marawi siege crime news. In addition, the results may be beneficial to people who are in line with news works and services. Moreover, future researchers may conduct similar studies where they could use other variab;les such as the participants’ age, educational attainment, nature of work, and the like as bases of the analysis of perceived effectiveness of both forms of media. <br/> |
