Mojica <br/>This study was conducted from August 2017 to April 2018 at Cavite State University - Main Campus to develop a network traffic control system for the Department of Information Technology in Cavite State University. Specifically, it aimed to I. identify the problems through surveys and interview; 2. analyze the problem through the use of fishbone diagram; 3. develop an account management module to identify the identity of user; 4. build a bandwidth allocation module for traffic control; 5. create a filtering module to control the accessible contents from the internet and to block access from temporarily banned user or device; 6. generate a caching module that will store the most visited websites to the server for easier and faster accessibility 7. make a firewall module to ensure the security within the network by inspecting the packets going inside and outside of the network; and 8. evaluate the system using unit, integration and system testing. Extreme Programming was used as the methodology of the system. To implement the bandwidth allocation feature of the system, Coova Chilli and Fret Radius were used. Thirty-two (32) Computer Science (CS) and Information Technology (IT) instructors and six (6) Office Administration (OA) instructors in the Department of Information Technology (DIT) evaluated the system. The results were collected through an evaluation form based on ISO 9126. According to the overall evaluation results, the system was judged to be excellent in all software quality criteria such as functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, portability, and user-friendliness. Upon the completion of the study, the researchers concluded that this would be a solution for the network problems encountered by the faculty of the DIT. <br/> |
