MOJICA, DIANNE IRISH M. and TUGADE, JUSTINE P. Human Fatigue Assessment of Selected College Faculty Members in Cavite State University on Prolonged Mentally Demanding Work-Tasks. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 2017. Adviser: Engineer Willie C. Buclatin.

This study was conducted from January to March 2017 to assess the human fatigue experience of select& faculty members in Cavite State University on prolonged mentally demanding work-tasks. Specifically, this study aimed to: 1. identify the demographic profile of the faculty members in terms of age, sex, marital status, and highest educational attainment; 2. assess the overall human fatigue experience in terms of task-independent, personal factors and task-dependent; 3. assess the human fatigue experience bas& on Swedish Occupational Fatigue Inventory and Fatigue Severity Scale;4. suggest ways to lessen the human fatigue experienced by the participants.

Descriptive method was used in the study. Two hundred ninety-eight faculty members are the participants who were assessed and interviewed from main colleges and campuses of Cavite State University. All the data were subjected to treatment, which were percentage and mean distribution.
Most female participants appear to be much more mentally fatigue than the male participants due to more independent task they were doing for the entire week. The faculty members who are still taking masters and doctors' degree were more mentally fatigue due to school works in both teaching and studying. Workload over time caused by improper distribution of tasks such as teaching hours, teaching units and office duties, and rest breaks increased the human fatigue experienced of the participants. Moreover, task dependent {e.g. household chores) factor appears to raise both physical and mental

Finally, participants have suggested eating healthy foods, more time to rest and exercise are ways to lessen the human fatigue. However, the participants considered lack of time to rest and perform exercises were the reasons for not being able to recuperate easily.
|
