Agdalpen, MA. <br/>The study aimed to assess the implementation of the right to social justice and human rights of Dumagat Indigenous People in the Province of Tanay, Rizal Specifically, the study sought to determine the following: 1) problems encountered by the Dumagat in upholding social justice and human rights in the province of Tanay, Rizal in terms of right of equal protection before the law, right during armed conflict, right to non-discrimination, right to political participation and right to basic social services; 2) measures of the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) in coordination with the Local Government Unit in Tanay, Rizal in upholding social justice and human rights protection among the native Dumagat residents of Tanay, Rizal; and 3) challenges faced the National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP) and Local Government Unit maintaining social justice and human rights among the native Dumagat residents of Rizal The study was conducted from September 2018 from January 2019. <br/>The researcher used an in-depth narrative analysis method that helped in g the personal experiences of the participants. Using Purposive Sampling, pants were chosen based on set criteria to obtain the appropriate participants. was composed of eight participants aged eighteen (18) to eighty-five years (85), The narratives of participants were analyzed and interpreted through Thematic. <br/>Based on the findings, it was determined that the creation of the law provides significant changes in the lives of Indigenous People which include the observed progress and problems in upholding social justice and human rights in the community. <br/>The key concepts that contributed to assessing the right to social justice and human rights of the Dumagat in terms of problem in upholding the right to equal protection before the law and basic social services was "Neglect", while the right to non-discrimination was "Helplessness". <br/>On the other hand in terms of measures made by the National Commission on Indigenous People and Local Government Unit of Tanay, Rizal in upholding the right to social justice and human rights, the theme was "Progress". In terms of the challenges faced by the National Commission on Indigenous People and Local Government Unit of Tanay, Rizal in maintaining the right to social justice and human rights it was "Insufficient".<br/> |
