Perla. <br/>The study was conducted from January 2019 to April 2019 inside Cavite State University — Don Severino de las Alas Campus, Indang, Cavite. The main objective was to design and construct a 12 V battery with the use of waste coffee ground as electrolyte. It specifically aimed to: (1) collect waste coffee grounds and test for its pH level; (2) combine salt, calamansi and vinegar to the collected waste coffee grounds and test for its pH level; (3) create cell with different pair of electrodes immersed into waste coffee grounds and other electrolytes and measure the open-circuit voltages and short-circuit currents; design and construct the battery system based on initial tests; (4) test and evaluate the prototype constructed; and (5) conduct material cost computation. The battery consists of eight cells connected in series. Each cell contains a magnesium rod and a fabricated carbon plate. The open circuit voltage of the battery has values ranging from 12.7 V to 13.2 V. The waste coffee ground battery was tested and evaluated under a 300-ohm resistor. The computed storage capacity of the battery is 124.5 mAh. The total cost of the study was P 11,306. <br/><br/><br/>
