"You have probably heard about the great scientific and social dilemma called global warming or climate change. The climate has changed many times in the past, but this time it is changing rapidly because of chemicals that humans are adding to the atmosphere. Scenes of flooding and storms show us just how much weather and climate can affect our lives. Understanding and predicting what the coming winter might bring, or predicting how will climate change over the next century is of vital importance - both for our economy and for society. Addressing climate change is one of the biggest challenges of the 21st century. The average global temperature on the earth’s surface is continuously increasing due to even higher carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere, the impact of which are already evident today. If global warning continues unchecked, it is likely to exceed the adaptive capacity of natural, managed social systems.<br/><br/>In this course, the students will know the climate and associated factors of climate change. It aim to inspire learners in striving harder by developing a sense of responsibility and commitment as they go along with the course.
