Undergraduate Nursing Research. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. March 2006. Advisers: Dr. Josefina R. Rint and Mrs. Lenila A. De Vera, R.N, MPH.<br/><br/>The Study was conducted in the four municipalities of Cavite: Magallanes, Naic, Maragondon and Ternate from December 2004-March 2005, which aimed to document the number of TB cases in four municipalities of Cavite (MAGNAMARTE) from 20022004; identify the factors that contribute to the effectivity of the DOTS Strategy; compare the mode of implementation of the DOTS strategy among the four selected municipalities; and assess the effectivity of the of the DOTS strategy in reducing the prevalence of tuberculosis. The study was developed after doing a non-probability method using accidental sampling technique among 40 patients and 40 health workers per municipality who agreed to be interviewed regarding the purposes of the study.<br/>The results was analyzed with the use of Chi Square Test of Association and found that the DOTS strategy was ineffective in terms of Cure Rate since various factors were noted to affect it.<br/> |
