The project entitled "Peanut Production After Rice using Ash as Soil Conditioner" was conducted at Kaytapos, Indang, Cavite from November 1993 to February 1994. The project was established to help increase production of peanut and to gain actual farm experience in putting up an income generating project. A 1,500 square meter field was thoroughly prepared by twice plowing and harrowing. Rice straw ash was incorporated into the soil during the last harrowing. Fresh unshelled peanut produced from the project was 25 kerosene cans. Each can was sold at P120.00. From the sale of the fresh peanut pods, the project generated a gross income of P3,000.00. After deducting the total cost of production of P1,519.00 from the gross income, the project gave a computed net income of P1,420.00. The return on investment (ROI) that was derived from the project was 91 percent. |
