A farm practice was conducted at Banson Poultry Farm in Aguado, Trece Martires City, with the aim of providing a first-hand experience and developing skill in operating broiler production. The farm practice started on November 17 and ended on December 29, 1997. Four thousand broiler chicks were utilized in the project. The chicks were fed with Chick Booster Mash on the first 11 days and Broiler Starter Mash on the remaining period until disposal. A medication program was strictly followed. At the time of disposal, the birds attained an average body weight of 1.74 kg and consumed an average of 3.53 kg of feeds. Feed conversion efficiency was 2.08 kg and mortality was maintained at 2.85 percent. The project derived a net income of P 51,190.64 for a return of investment of 19.70 percent. |
