Tan.<br/>The study was conducted to determine the level implementation an level of<br/>awareness of Animal Welfare Law as perceived by selected resident of barangays in Indang,<br/>Cavite. Specifically, the purpose of the study sought to determine the demographic and<br/>socio-economic characteristics of selected residents from selected barangays in Indang,<br/>Cavite in terms of: age, sex, civil status, and estimated monthly family income; their level of<br/>awareness regarding the Animal Welfare Law; their level of implementation of the Animal<br/><br/>Welfare Law; if there is a significant relationship between their demographic and socio-<br/>economic profile, and their level of awareness of the Animal Welfare Law; if there is a<br/><br/>significant relationship between their demographic and socio-economic profile, and their<br/>level of implementation of the Animal Welfare law; and if there is a significant relationship<br/>between their level of awareness and their level of implementation. Descriptive method was<br/>used to attain this study and self-made questionnaires were disseminated in data gathering.<br/>The participants were selected using convenience sampling to obtain the samples which<br/>was subdivided the participants to represent the barangays of Indang, Cavite. There were<br/>two hundred eighty one (281) participants in this study. The participant's age ranged from<br/>18-68. The most number of participants aged 21-30 while the least aged 51 and above.<br/>There is virtually the same number of male 46.47% and female with 53.53% participants<br/>although there is slightly more females. A little more than half of the participants were single,<br/>54.77% more than one-third were married 37.34% and the rest were widowed 5.81% or<br/>separated 2.07% their estimated monthly family income, ranged from 85,000 - 50,000.<br/>Almost one-third declared an income of P 10,000 or less. The least number of participants<br/>declared an income of P 31,000 and above.<br/>Results shows that resident-participant from the eight (8) selected barangays of<br/>lndang, Cavite were quite aware in the awareness of Animal Welfare Law. They also "often<br/>implemented" the law. Their level of awareness and demographic profiles particularly age<br/>and civil status, had significant relationship. Sex and estimated monthly family income were<br/>not correlated.<br/><br/>The level of awareness of resident-participants were positively correlated to their<br/>levels of implementation as indicated by the Point Biserial correlation coefficient of 0.286<br/>(P=0.00). This means that their awareness affects their personal implementation of the<br/>animal welfare law. |
