Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Operations Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. January 2019. Adviser: Mam Betsy Rose Fidel.<br/>A study was conducted from August to May 2019 in selected bakeshop in<br/>Cavite. The study focused in the three selected areas of Cavite namely: Dasmarinas City, Imus, and Bacoor. The three cities are chosen because it has the highest concentration of bakeshops among the cities of Cavite. With the objectives to determine the socio — demographic profile of Owner/Manager such as the age, sex, and educational attainment, determine the profile of bakeshops in terms of: years in operation, form of business organization and capitalization; determine the purchasing practices of the bakeshop in terms of: re order system and volume of purchase items; determine the Stock management of the bakeshop in terms of: inventory counting system and first in first out; determine the significant difference in volume of purchased items when grouped according to business profile and to determine the significant<br/>relationship in business profile when grouped according to stock management.<br/>Descriptive statistical tools were used in presenting and analyzing all the data collected in the study. Mean, percentage, frequency, and range were used to describe the Socio-demographic profile of the participants, Business profile of the bakeshops, determine the practices of the bakeshops and determine if business profile have a relationship or difference in Purchasing and stock management practices. Spearman Rank Correlation was used in formulating the survey results evaluate the relationship in stock management when grouped according to business profile.<br/>The socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents in selected areas in<br/>Cavite show that the majority were male which are between 30 to 39 years old.<br/>Results also showed that majority of the respondents were college undergraduate in managing the bakeshops.<br/>The business profile of the respondents implies that most of them are well experienced when it comes to managing bakeshops. Furthermore, most of the respondents are in Sole proprietorship. When it comes to capital, it requires less capital to put up a business.<br/>In acquiring raw material, those who buy their raw materials weekly, they buy bulk orders from their supplier/s since they have more capacity to store them properly. In checking the inventory, owner is often responsible for this work and most of them are using the material that comes first in the storage.<br/>The difference in average volume of raw materials with business profile (years in operation) shows that every 5 years, the average volume of flour and sugar had raised and decreased.<br/>The difference in average volume of raw materials that flour, yeast, salt, sugar, butter, and egg have significant differences in forms of business organization. This proves that the corporation has the highest mean when it comes to form of business organization.<br/>The difference in average volume of raw materials with capitalization reveals that flour, yeast, sugar, and butter have significant difference in terms of capitalization. It also shows that, Salt and Egg have no significant difference in terms of capitalization.<br/>Years in operation and stock management does not have significant relationship with stock rotation.<br/>Form of business does not have significant relationship with stock rotation.<br/>The relationship of capitalization vs. Stock Management based on the findings,<br/>Capitalization does not have significant relationship with stock rotation.<br/> |
