Undergraduate thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management Major in Human Resource Development Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Mr. Gener T. Cueno. <br/>The study was conducted in selected areas of Cavite, namely Carmona, Dasmarifias, and Rosario. A total of 280 employees and 14 managements were interviewed. The study sought to determine the level of disaster and risk management preparedness and workplace safety as perceived by the employees in the garments manufacturing companies in Cavite. Descriptive statistical tools such as frequency, mean, and standard deviation were used to answer the objectives of the study. Pearson R Correlation Coefficient was used in determining the relationship between the level of the disaster and risk management preparedness and workplace safety as perceived by the employees. Most of the manufacturing companies were producing gloves. Majority of the participants were working in a company which originated from Korea. The garments manufacturing companies have been operating from 7 to 13 years with 119 to 620 employees. In addition, disaster management preparation was rated as highly prepared in terms of mitigation (3.89), preparation (3.94), response (3.97) and recovery (3.86). Risk management preparation was also rated as highly prepared in terms of risk assessment (4.00), risk communication (3.97), and risk control (3.97). Moreover, the workplace safety component as perceived by the employees was rated as very safe with the mean of 3.60. Also, there was a significant relationship between the level of disaster management preparedness and workplace safety as perceived by the employees. <br/><br/>Finally, there was a significant relationship between the level of risk management <br/>preparedness and workplace safety as perceived by the employees. <br/> |
