Bachelor of Science in Economics major in Agricultural Economics and Business Economics. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Dr. Luzviminda A. Rodrin.<br/>The study was conducted to determine the waste management practices of selected electronics companies in Philippine Economic Zone Authority, First Cavite Industrial Estate and Gateway Business Park. Specifically, the study aimed to determine the business profile of the electronics companies, the demographic and socio-economic profile of the participants waste management awareness of participants, the benefits of implementing and practicing, and problems encountered in waste management.<br/>Descriptive statistical tools such as frequency counts, mean, rank and percentage were used to answer the research objectives. For the level of awareness and extent of compliance of compliance to the Waste Management Act of 2000, a 5point Likert scale was used. There was a total of 100 participants from 10 electronics companies in the study. The identified participants to the research were one Pollution Control Officer and nine employees from selected ten companies. Based on the result the study shows the ten electronics companies from wastes generation up to method of transfer on how they practice waste management.<br/>It also shows the awareness of 100 employees from the 10 companies about RA 9003 or Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 and impact in the environment.<br/>Lastly, how the companies obey the laws about RA 9003 on the policies, procedures and regulations, on how the employees benefited from waste management practice and problems encountered inside and outside of the company.<br/> |
