AMADOR, REXOR S., MAGAT, JHESALYNEV. and SABALLA, JIMBOY B. Effects of health and Wellness Status on Behavioral Competency of Police Officers in Cavite: Basis for Improved Health and Wellness Program. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in Human Resource Development Management. Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. June 2019. Adviser: Ms. Janice E. Paiton.
The study was conducted from August 2018 to May 2019 in Cavite, namely:
Dasmarinas City, General Trias City, Imus City and Tagaytay City.
The study aimed to determine the effects of health and wellness status on behavioral competency of police officers in cities of Cavite. This described the sociodemographic profile of the police officers, the level of health and wellness status in terms of health, fitness and wellness, the existing health and wellness programs in the workplace, the level of behavioral competency in terms of stress management, interpersonal communication and adaptability, the effects of health and wellness status on the police officers' behavioral competencies and the significant relationship between sociodemographic profile, health and wellness status of police officers.
Descriptive statistics were used in presenting and describing the demographic profile, health and wellness status, health and wellness program, and behavioral competency. Ordinal regression was used in determining the effects of health and wellness status on police officers behavioral competency and Spearman rank correlation and Kruskal-wallis test were used to determine the relationship between socio-demographic profile and health and wellness status of police officers in Cavite.
The study revealed that the majority of the police officers were ages 30-37 years old, have finished bachelors degree and they are dominated by male. Majority of the police officers were single and they were in service for 6 years and above.
The results revealed that health and wellness status can influence the behavioral competency. If the health and wellness status is high, more likely police officers have high level of productivity in work and have better performance.
The study revealed that socio-demographic such as age, sex, civil status, position/rank, educational attainment and length of service have no relationship with health and wellness status of police officers in Cavite. Police officers need to be always disciplined and strictly follow rules which means they were influenced in their work environment and were able to apply it to maintain their health and wellness.
|
