Cubillo.<br/>This study sought to determine the capabilities and competitiveness of human resource<br/>managers in manufacturing companies in view of ASEAN economic Integration. Specifically,<br/>the study aimed to (a) describe the demographic profile of the human resource managers in<br/>selected manufacturing companies in the Philippine Economic Zone Authority in terms of age,<br/>sex, civil status, educational attainment, and length of service; (b) determine the level of<br/>awareness of human resource managers functions in view of ASEAN economic integration; (c)<br/>determine the level of capabilities of human resource managers in view of ASEAN economic<br/>integration; (d) determine the level of competitiveness of human resource managers in view of<br/>ASEAN economic integration; (e) ascertain if there is a significant relationship between profile<br/>and level of capabilities of human resource managers in selected manufacturing companies in<br/>PEZA; (f) ascertain if there is a significant relationship between profile and level of<br/>competitiveness of human resource managers in selected manufacturing companies in PEZA;<br/>(g) ascertain if there is a significant relationship between level of awareness in ASEAN<br/>Integration and capabilities of human resource managers in selected manufacturing companies<br/>in PEZA• (h) ascertain if there is a significant relationship between awareness in ASEAN<br/>Integration and competitiveness of human resource managers in selected manufacturing<br/>companies in<br/>PEZA; and (I) ascertain if there is a significant relationship between capabilities and<br/>competitiveness of human resource managers in selected manufacturing companies in PEZA.<br/>Total enumeration was employed in the study and the total respondents were 90<br/>human resource managers who answered to be part of the study. A survey questionnaire was<br/>used in the collection of primary data.<br/>Findings of the study revealed that there is a significant relationship between profile<br/>and capabilities of human resource managers, particularly the educational attainment of the<br/><br/>participants. Also, there was a correlation between the profile and competitiveness in terms of<br/>educational attainment and length of service. The result also revealed that the awareness on<br/>ASEAN economic integration had correlation between capabilities and competitiveness. Lastly,<br/>there is a relationship between capabilities and competitiveness in terms of knowledge of the<br/>job and performance and productivity of the HR managers in PEZA. Likewise, they have a<br/>positive result on being capable and competitive inside and outside the workplace.<br/>In general, there was no significant relationship between profile in terms of age in level<br/>of capabilities. Likewise, no significant relationship was found between profile and age in terms<br/>of level of competitiveness of the human resource managers. |
