Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Major in Crop Science. Cavite State University, Indang Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Dr. Arnulfo C. Pascual.<br/>The response o? lettuce under waving mixes of biochar was assessed in containerized experiments at Central experiment Station Area, Cavite State University Main Campus Indang, Cavite. The treatments were arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with eight treatments(O, 25% CRH,25% CCP, 25% CCS, 25% combination of CRH and CCP, 25% combination of CRH and CCS, 25% combination of CCP and CCS and 25% combination of CRH, CCP, and CCS) of biochar mixes with three replications. The observations recorded on growth parameters showed that biochar had no consistent significant effect on growth of lettuce. Results shows heavier weight of harvested lettuce was observed at T2 which has a combination of 25% carbonized rice hull and 75 % idea! soil mix. However, in terms of plant height, T! or the control is the tallest among all the Other plants while T6 which has a combination of 12.5% carbonized rice hull, 12.5% carbonized coconut shell and ideal soil mix gained the highest number of leaves. These results provide information on the use of biochar as soil amendment in horticultural crops. However, their verification in the field is important for specific recommendations.<br/> |
