CATAPANG, NICOLE ANGELA L. and VENZON, ACE VINCENT R. Strategic Index Crime Analysis in Dasmarinas Cavite: Basis for Crime Prevention Models. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Criminology. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. May 2022. Adviser: V-JAY S. EUSEBIO, MSCrim.
The City of Dasmarifias Cavite has been on the top of the list in the province of Cavite when it comes to Index crimes for the past years. Research has shown that there are factors why a crime is committed in a certain community, and analyzing these factors are a huge help in order to lessen the commission of crime. This study aimed to analyze the crime rate of index crime in Dasmarifias Cavite, for the proper implementation of Crime Prevention Models. Documents were obtained from the Dasmarifias Police Station and a document analysis was performed in order to achieve the objectives. According to the documents obtained, the participants were the accused who committed index crimes.

The analysis shows that there were six reported types of index crimes committed in Dasmarinas Cavite between 2018-2020. It also shows that there are three locations in Dasmarinas that top when it comes to index crimes. Furthermore, it also shows that there is no specific time when a crime will possibly occur. Lastly, the demographic profile of a person is a big factor in why a person will commit a crime. The findings show that index crime can only be avoided, not eradicated. It also implies that a person's geographic location and environmental difficulties may have an impact on why they commit crimes. Furthermore, the result shows that crime can occur at any time of day or night, and that index crime happens depending on the year's seasonal conditions. Finally, a person's education is the most influential aspect in why they commit a crime. Adulthood is difficult to achieve without sufficient education, and finding a competent job is even more challenging. Keywords: Crime Prevention, Index crime, Crime Rate, Crime, Crime Prevention Mode |
