AVENIDA, AARON, FARISCAL, JOHN ERIC L., MAZO, KAREN JOYCE P., and OLLER, MELVIN. Adoption of Mobile Payment of Clothing Online Sellers in Selected Cities in Cavite. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. August 2022. Adviser: Ms. Jemmalene O. Viado.
The world is in the "new normal" phase where in the Philippines, online selling became notable. It is the mobile commerce transaction between online sellers and online buyers. Mobile payment is the financial instrument used for payment transactions. In using mobile payment, there were cases of frauds, inconvenience, and service fees that diminishes the trust of online sellers in using it. The study was conducted to determine the adoption of mobile payment of clothing online sellers in selected cities in Cavite. Specifically, the study intended to describe their profile, determine the level of adoption of mobile payment as well as the issues and benefits they encountered.
The study was conducted from May 2021 to January 2022. This covered the cities of Cavite, namely: Tagaytay, Trece Martires, Dasmarinas, General Trias, and Imus wherein 384 clothing online sellers served as the participants of the study. Descriptive method of research was used to achieve the objectives of the study. Frequency, percentage, and weighted mean were used in presenting the profile and measuring the relationship between the profile and the level of adoption of mobile payment of clothing online sellers. Rank orders were used to determine the most benefits and issues in using mobile payment of clothing online sellers. Based on the results, most of the clothing online sellers using mobile payment were 17 to 29 years old, females, and were college undergraduates.
Gash was the most frequently used mobile payment application. In the case of the level of adoption of mobile payment of clothing online sellers in terms of convenience, cost, security, and trust, for the participants, using mobile. payment application is very convenient, very secure, very trusted, and slightly costly, but compared to other channels such as remittances and others, mobile payment is less expensive. In utilizing the mobile payment in the clothing industry, the danger of misuse of information like business partners and payment amount details is the most issues encountered of clothing online sellers in using mobile payment while the navigation of mobile payment application is the least issue.
The availability of mobile payment does not benefit the clothing online sellers mostly, on the other hand, text messages or email that notices them to monitor the daily financial transactions benefits them. Hence, using other devices to perform payment transactions aside from their mobile phone is recommended to the clothing online sellers. Additionally, it is advised to use safe, trustworthy, and reliable applications. Monitor the sensitive information while using public Wi-Fi as the data may be transmitted. Clothing online sellers were advice to be knowledgeable, explore the features, navigations, and significance of a particular mobile payment applications. The future researchers were recommended to do precise findings from the study like the lack of proficiency of senior adults with mobile payment |
