Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. October 2011. Adviser: Mr. Mark Steve V. Poniente.<br/>The study was conducted to design and evaluate a software that measures the student's English language proficiency in written communication. The study was developed using Scrum development methodology. The Scrum methodology is iterated (the product is produced during the small cycles called iterations), incremental (the functionality of the product increase during each iteration by adding new properties) and use its own terminology for working people and some procedural steps. The software will have a pre-defined set of questions in a database. An instructor must create and account in order to add, search, and edit questions once he or she has logged in. The software will function as an examination material for students enrolled in English courses. In order to take an exam, a student must create his or her account. Both instructors and students can update his or her account information. Scores and suggestions were presented to the student right after he or she has finished answering the set of questions that were randomly drawn from the database. The suggestions were determined thru the application Of fuzzy logic based upon the scores and the student's rapidness of answering each question.<br/> |
