Adviser: Professor Josefino A. Viado<br/><br/>The study, "Growth and Yield of Winged Beans (Psophocarpus tetragonolobus L.) as Affected by Different Levels and Grades of Inorganic Fertilizers" was conducted to: 1) find out the effect of different levels and grades of inorganic fertilizers (complete fertilizer, ammonium phosphate, and muriate of potash) on the growth and yield of winged beans; and 2) determine the right level of complete fertilizer, ammonium phosphate, and muriate of potash that is appropriate to promote good results on the growth and yield of winged beans.<br/><br/>A total of 36 plants were used in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications, four mainplot factor (grades of inorganic fertilizers) and three subplot factor (levels of application), composing 12 treatments.<br/><br/>The study reveals that application of the different levels of the inorganic fertilizers had not greatly affected the growth and yield of winged beans. On the other hand, the different grades of fertilizer applied to the crop showed great effect on its growth and yield.<br/><br/>Treatments with the application of complete fertilizer and muriate of potash were best for winged beans. It was found out that plants applied with complete fertilizer and muriate of potash grows faster, yields more, produces longer and heavier pods and has more number of Seeds per pod.<br/><br/> |
