Bachelor of Science in Social Work. Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. June 2018. Adviser: Darylvy R. Avila, RSW, MPA <br/><br/> The study was conducted from April to May of year 2021. The aim of the study is to explore the different narratives and lived experiences of social workers from the local government units in the Province of Cavite during the pandemic. Specifically, it aimed to 1. identify what experiences during the crisis have affected the LGU social worker's resilience, and 2. recognize the challenges that the social worker must deal with during calamities. Narrative research was used in the study. The researchers have interviewed a total of two (2) respondents from different LGUs of Cavite. With the use of online video conferencing platforms and interview guides, the researchers were able to gather as much data as possible. The researchers used thematic analysis for analyzing the data they have gathered. The results showed that among other things, the social workers' biggest challenge is the burnout they experience from doing their best to provide appropriate interventions to their clients despite limited movements caused by the pandemic. The study also explored how social workers fight burnout and the why they keep on working despite all the challenges they face in COVID-19 setting, the most prominent answer being the need to be able to provide for their families, while watching online movies as a coping mechanism and source of leisure in their less <br/> |
