Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Major in Marketing, Cavite State University, Indang, Cavite. April 1999. Adviser: Dr. Delia C. Cresino. <br/>The study was conducted to describe the socio-economic characteristics of Colgate consumers; determine the factors affecting the demand for Colgate and; ascertain the relationship between the demand for Colgate and selected variables such as price of Colgate, family income, household size and price of substitute goods. <br/>The study was conducted in six municipalities of Upland Cavite, namely; Alfonso, Amadeo, Indang, Silang, Tagaytay City and Ternate. A total of 123 respondents was taken through fishbowl technique.<br/> Data were collected through personal interviews with the respondents with the aid of the prepared questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the following tools: percentages, means, ranges, frequency counts, ranks, and multiple regressions. <br/>The respondents are generally young with formal education, dominated female, married and with an average household size of five members. Respondents had an average income of ₱ 10,613.38. <br/>Generally, household consumed 160 ml to 300 ml of Colgate in a month. Majority of the consumers had no substitute brand for Colgate because of its good quality. On average, consumers in upland Cavite purchased three tubes of Colgate containing 100 ml a month. <br/>The demand for Colgate was significantly affected by the price of Colgate and household size. Income, price of rival Close up and Hapee did not affect the demand for Colgate.<br/> |
